My recent shooting has included photographing a kids birthday party at a local "bounce" place (moon bounce, inflated slides, etc.) but until I get permission from the parents to post some of those photos, I thought I would post one of the images from my Eastern Shore trip a couple of weekends ago. This is particularly appropriate since a friend recently asked me to help her learn how to shoot HDR images.
This image is a 3-shot HDR image processed in Photomatix and then adjusted in Photoshop. HDR processing can be very natural - just just allowing for what we see - or it can be over the top with incredibly saturated colors and grungy textures. I tend to like to process my HDR images somewhere in the middle of these two extremes. I don't like it overly grungy although I like some grunge and I like saturated, rich colors.
Other information about this image - this was taken at a place that my friends are calling "The Farm." It is located in the Easton area of the Maryland Eastern Shore. The farm is no longer a working farm but it is a fun place to find interesting things to photograph. It is the home of artists - how cool. I hope to get back there sometime this summer.
